2. The United Arab Emirates (the UAE)
The UAE is indeed a very safe country with one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Tourists, as well as locals, can freely wander around the cities both day and night feeling totally secure. The government has achieved this level of security thanks to a low unemployment rate, a high standard of living, a solid emergency service infrastructure , and respect for the law. Every year the country invests a lot of money in special services and the police force, which means they can maintain impeccable order within the country.
The UAE is known for its no nonsense approach towards the country's strict laws and policies. Religion and cultural characteristics can affect the behavior requirements for both locals and travelers. In Sharjah, one of the other lesser known emirates in the UAE, alcohol is prohibited at all levels. Tourists cannot purchase alcohol in bars or carry alcohol in their luggage. The sale of alcohol in Sharjah is illegal and strictly punishable by law. On the beaches, tourists are advised to wear closed clothing, as the emirate of Sharjah has a strict dress code.
